Scouting Report
Trait Ratings
Trait 1 — Accuracy (7/10)
Moss can make his throws when given time. Most of his passes come within 15 yards and off of one read. But again, when he sees his open receiver he will most likely make the throw. Not too much sample size 30+ yards downfield. Not afraid to make a throw on the run.
Trait 2 — Vision (5/10)
His offense at both USC and Louisville revolved around a one or two read offense. Receivers are schemed open on short routes and heavy screen passes.
Trait 3 — Arm Strength / Velocity (3/5)
Average arm. Ball gets to the receiver on time. Not needed to really whip it downfield.
Trait 4 — Pocket Presence / Escapability (3/5)
Has speed to act as a dual threat, but doesn't always feel the pressure around him. Can panic a bit when faced with heavy blitz.
Trait 5 — Anticipation (2.5/5)
Knows where his short routes are going to be. Doesn't really have to anticipate his routes that are further downfield.
Trait 6 — Mechanics (3.5/4)
Mechanics are strong. Bit of a smaller quarterback, throws the ball off linemen a recognizable amount.
Summary
Moss is an accurate quarterback who will make the throw when it is given to him. He can use his legs but doesn't have the best pocket presence. Can come in as a solid backup and make a few throws. Offense will need to scheme around his IQ limits.
